Hello, I bought an refurbished 20GB from MS back when they were doing that program for $20. I just recently found this mod when I was looking on upgrading my HDD, $80 for 60GB is just too much for me, especially since I am used to how much computer parts should cost.
Anyways, I got a couple of questions.
1. Is there a list of what HDD is supported? I only read a couple of guides that supports WD Scorpio WD1200BEVS, then I read the changelog where it said something like supporting other sizes of HDD. So what HDD are fully supported?
2. Is there a way to transfer all my saves and DLC to the new HDD?
3. What size of the Torx screwdriver does the HDD enclosure uses?
Thanks in advance, if I have more questions, I will ask.

You mean, you don't want to SEARCH for this readily available information?
1. There is no LIST, there is a TYPE. You can only use 20, 60, 120, and 250. So, if you get an 80, you can only get 60 from it. If you have a 150, you can only get 120 from it. If you get a 300, you can only get 250 from it. you also need the HDDSS.BIN for the right size, YOU have to find it.
2. No, not without the DATA Xfer Cable. You can re-download content you paid for though, which is time. There is no direct transfer without the Kit.
3. That's in the TUTORIAL.
Go to the MAIN MENU section here, there is a menu with LINKS, and there is a HDD upgrade tutorial.

Okay, so I found the guides (Sorry for not searching around this forum first), but I couldn't quite find the answer to my first question.
So let me get this straight, I can only use Western Digital Scorpio BEV, but I can get whatever size I want, but after I flash the new FW, it will only be the lower one, IE getting an 160GB can only go as high as 120GB. Or do you mean something else when you said "Type".

There is also an article at the HOME page http://www.xbox360-hacks.com/2009/10/24 … -20091022/ that adds support for Western Digital Scorpio Series manufactured 2009.
The TYPE are the series of drives you can use.
Size is, right, if you get a 160GB BEVS series, you can only use 120GB, using HDDSS120.bin
You are not really flashing firmware for the drive, you are writing the SSBIN (Security Sectors) to a specific sector on the hard disk, I think it's like Sector 16 holds that information. HDDHacker assists you in writing that information (HDDSS.BIN) to the hard disk, along with your console ID and whatever else is needed.

Alright, just to double check. From what I have read, this is supported.
WD1600BEVT - 60ZCT0
Drive Parameters: LBA 312581808
Canada ICES - 003 Class B / NMB - 003 Classe B
Serial ATA Hard Drive

I remembered I have an external 160GB WD Scorpio HDD, and I was thinking of using this as the recommended 120GB are hard to find, and the places I checked sells HDD bigger than 120/160GB for about $50-$60, so I think I will just buy another HDD and replace this WD for my external, and use the WD for the 360.
Thanks again.
