Noob question... How to update 1.5.1 ixtreme to 1.6 ?
Hello.
My friend has an Xbox360 with 1.5.1 ixtreme, but it was done by some guy he knew but now that guy is gone.
He asked me if I could update his 1.5.1 to 1.6 but I'm not sure if I need the key.bin, dummy.bin, inquiry.bin and identify.bin from his drive... Because those files are gone since that guy his gone too.
Is it possible to update? Is it safe without those files?

READ a tutorial before asking. You have to have the KEY, but you can extract it from the current firmware. You have to start from STEP 1! Go to the menu section and READ.
