Backing up games with a regular dvd-rom drive?
I keep hearing that you can use a regular computer dvd-rom drive to backup games, but i havent found a proper tutorial on how to do it. Do you have to flash the dvd-rom drive at all or does it have to be a certain type?

Yes you need a samsung drive Flashed with kreon firmware these drives are getting hard to find I have found. But try here this is where i got mine http://www.samsungdrives.com/cart/index … ducts_id=1

True but when I was looking they were more expensive on ebay.

That's the price you're gonna pay, and that's that... You will be lucky to find an OEM one anywhere, so, that's what happens when a drive becomes a demand. They end up scarce and expensive.

Right and $15.00 to ship it? It should only cost $7.00 at most to ship those drives in a USPS bubble pack. I have used them to ship drives, I paid $5.60 cents to ship an OEM Xbox360 BROKEN drive I sold on Ebay... So, $44.95 + $14.95? $60.90 all together? May as well be highwaymen...

Ebay has them for 49.99 FREE shipping, so you save some... I saw some there are ridiculous, but I saw two, one for 50.00 ad 49.99 FREE shipping. Beats 61.00...
