Does the lite-on...
do the lite-on drives still require a probe or key finder to mod? or can i just download a premade modification disc which will mod it as easily as the benq's that i'm used to? ive been out of the 360 scene since april of last year, so im really out of the loop.

the liteon V74 requires either soldering the R707 & R708 across the gaps or you need a probe
the liteon V83 does not require anything its just done by software

can you elaborate? i built a probe using a 10k and 1K resistor and an NPN transistor wired to 5V+ ground and to a serial adapter. I have a Via 6421 adapter that i used for all of my old 360's. and Now im trying to mod 2 liteon drives using this probe. Everytime i try to do it in the modification USB drive 1.6 revision 4, it says "firmware verification failed" I have no idea what the problem could be.
