long story short had an e74 console bought from ebay with hdmi (bad idea) took it to a guy to fix it had it for about 3 to four days said there were more problems with the dvd drive . all said and done when i got it back it would play for a few hours then the screen would get all greeny and covered in lines then back to e74 so i took it back and now he has had it for over a month trying to fix any thoughts, suggestions as to what could be the problem?

Too bad it was taken apart, M$ offers the 3-year E74 warranty along side the 3-LOD warranty...

IF the conventional fixes do not work, you're outta luck...

yeah hindsight is 20/20. the warranty sticker was already gone when i got it and it was before they started the e74 fix for free. but like i said it will play for a couple hours fine the turn it on the next day and graphics go to hell then e74!!! but thank you for the info

Doesn't matter WHEN the E74 warranty started, just like with the 3-LOD. Any console that is NOT three years old, will be fixed free. IF you do not have a receipt, then they go by the MFR date on the console.

50/50 - people have done it, the worst that can happen is you get it back, unrepaired.
