HDMI SLOT Not Working - Please Help
Hi guys please can you help
I have a Xbox 360 Elite that has been working though a HDMI cable fine for 20 days..
Now today we had a power cut.
and since it came back on the HDMI option will not work
I can use Scart fine - Components fine - HD AV fine - but it will not work though the HDMI socket,
i have tried the Xbox lead on a PS3 works fine.
I have tried connecting to another HDTV and still nothing....
Please can you help?

The power cut may have reset all your settings, I assume you have been into the display settings and checked......

Yeah, but even out of box systems work with HDMI without changing any settings... It's stupid to have to connect by Component or Composite, then change the option to HDMI, then plug the HDMI in. I didn't have to do that with my systems, I just plugged it in, and it was fine. I only had to set resolution, not the output port.

It seems a bit odd that the HDMI would stop working after a power cut though. I guess that is possible. Oddly, The component output gives a far superior picture on my Elite than the HDMI does, The output from the HDMI looks faded and lacks the vibrant colours that I get from component.

Well i have now confirmed that the TV has gone on 2 of the 3 HDMI ports
and the xbox HDMI port has gone too.
The lightning stuck my house - Blew my modem - blew my telephone line - blew my HDMI Slots on my TV and Xbox Elite - blew my Sky + Box.
Microsoft said they can repair it, but that would be a bit awkward.....
Adders are you talking about HD Component? where you use the TV/HDMI switch on the Lead? - i can not get sound that way?

also when i first set up my elite i had to do the whole scart lead change to hdmi and change within 10 seconds to get it working.....maybe it was damaged out of the box.
But my 2nd xbox i use for streaming in the bed (and gaming when our lass is asleep) connects first time.

I use the cable that has the yellow/red/white/red/green/blue and yes, have the switch flicked (tv/hdtv). I use optical for the sound, but i could use the red and white from the cable. But the HDMI port on the xbox gives me a poorer picture.

Cheers Powerslave for the rant - I dont read rules like i dont read manuals, if i did i would not be using a website like this, but i will take on board what you said, and i will edit instead of reposting next time - sorry
Still not fixed this problem though - might have to un-flash and send back to microsoft...
