HI...I've never actually played an Xbox 360.

A friend gave me a 3 red lights of death console with the tv lead and power brick, but nothing else.

I've fixed the 3 red lights of death.

Then a friend asked me to fix his chipped xbox. It had been fixed 3 times previously and when opened half the threads on the heatsinks were worn away, so no pressure on processors. I used a few extra bolts here and there, but then:

3 red lights!
The fan span for a microsecond before going silent!
The light on power brick is yellow!
And the processors don't even get hot!

Can anybody help?

Secondly:

Can a chipped DVD drive actually break your console?
Could I transfer DVD drive to the XBox that is working?
