Can't tell without a picture... Remove the mod and see if it works again. If not, then you blew something out.

I tried it with the mod removed and same thing will not power up. Nothing on the board looks blown or shorted. I will post a pic but there will not be much to see. I am doing the simply mod. not the one that you buy. I have been successful with 2 and failed with 2, with the problem I've posted.

Components don't have to LOOK bad to be bad. You had to have shorted something out...

Is there anyway to fix it? I mean to find where the short is and repair. I can hold a jumper from LED's to ground and they light up, I just cant get overall control power. If I knew where I shorted it I could probably solder it back. Perhaps its a resistor or diode or something I fried. Any suggestions?

I have no suggestions, as I can't see what was done, or what you did. I don't mod anything with the 360, so I can't really form a 100% valid response...

This seems a little odd to tell the truth. There really isnt much you can do in the area your talking. One thing I will say to check though is the spring for the batteries. That is the ground you are messing with. Just make sure that it is all the way pushed up into the solder blob. When you heat the ground up sometimes the spring will drop down. Just heat the solder up and from the bottom push the spring up into the board. Other than that bud I really dont know what else to suggest. Look around the area with a magni-glass and make sure you dont see any burnt traces. Good luck and let us know how it works out for you..
