i've been trying to duplicate the results from the no chip mod video on the front page but all that happens is an on/off function for the trigger.
i went to radio shack and got a couple kinds of momentary switches , because it was never specified in the video so the kinds i got were single post single throw (SPST) momentary pushbuttn switchs item number 275-1547 normaly open, i also tried the same switch but normally closed and i tried spdt slide sitches a well.
the soldering is all good and in the right places (grnd of player 1 led & middle post of trigger) but the normally closed switch only allows me to hold the switch then pull the trigger and it acts normally if i do not hold the switch the triggr does not work at all
normally open spst switch does the opposite - hold switch and the trigger does not fire
now all that makes scence to me now, open means on untill pressed and closed means off until pressed.
so my question is what type of momentary switch is needed and does this mod work on the boards that say 0546 in digitial type in the lower right corner of the board, wired controler with philips screws not security torx so i think its the old type but not sure

You need a Normally open button. This way of rapid fire works but if you have ever used a rapid fire with a chip you will want more than this type of mod. If you have never used one that has a chip then you wont really know what your missing so you may enjoy. Either way good luck with your mod!! And remember "NORMALLY OPEN""
