Hi everyone. I have searched this forum and others but i have not found a suitable answer for this yet.

I was wondering if you can change the region of a game wether it be a backup or a retail i would. but at the moment i have a backup that is reporting thru mulleter it is europe and australian. I have a USA console so i assume it will not play even with the iextreme FW.
now I know from reading the forums that you cannot change the region code of a game. But my question is if you cannot change the region code then how are all these "backup" copies floating around all region free. every other game i have aquired has reported thru mulleter they are all regions and region free. so im an assuming that not everygame out there comes region free. so if the region cant be changed how are all these games region free? does it have to be done at the time of backup from the original?
