Hello guys,
I flashed my Toshiba Samsung H943 ms 25 with Ixtreme 1.4 ( 8x speed) everything worked fine, all the 4 banks were written.
I burned the backup games with verbatim discs with no error ( they are already patched and so on).
I have the problem that the game freezes after a while. It is not at a specific time - serveral times...
The console seems to be good - there is no error message on the screen, it just gets dark or you have a colored screen. You can't get back to the dashboard when you open the dvd drive - there is just no picture. There are all green lights on the xbox when I hit the button to show the error codes - there is none. Everything is ok.
I tried a original DVD and there is the same problem.
Do I have the wrong firmware flashed? Which speed do I have to use? 5x or 8x or 12x i used 8x - was this wrong? My XBOX is one of the oldest it was manufactured in 2005, perhaps the IXTREME isn't compatible?
Any suggestions, thanks for help
I have to say that i fixed the 0110 error ( ram error because of bad ball grid array) I used the rubber method just to give the rams the pressure they need (to fix the bga contacs) ...but I think this is not the problem here because the box works fine in the dashboard...
Ok in my last try the screen got first dark then brown with white lines
when the game started and there was no error message either on the xbox nor as I rebooted

Try a xclamp fix on it, the dash board puts no real load on the gpu which sounds to me like what is failing. Xclamp fix then overheat to reball the gpu chip look for tutorials on it mate. I would say that is your problem not your drive.

i tried it out several times and sometimes when the screen freezes and i restart the box i get my old 0110 memory error. I don't understand whats going on. When i restart several times everything is ok till it comes to the crash while gaming.
Do the rams on the backside of the motherboard also need cooling?
I already overheated twice.
playing normal original dvds works also fine I think the board crashes when it needs some graphic power as you just said uron 1000
I left the screws for the xclambs on the backside because it was said in the rubber fix tutorials. But there is no difference in behavoir wheather with or without the 8 screws

Hmm sounds like you might be going out and buying a new one soon mate. Seem to me like there is a lot of failing going on. get yourself on ebay and buy a box with faulty drive then just swap the drive with your good one and your good to go. cheaper than buying a new one!

I bought this one on ebay with the hope to fix it but it is as it seems the worst error....

ok I think I have fixed the problem I put a big 12 V 0,17 A fan on the GPU to cool it. The game is running for 2 hours now. But without the fan it crashes in seconds.. But the surface of the passive cooler isn't that hot when you leave the fan out? Does so know @ which temperature the GPU cuts off?

It isn't a matter of what temp the CPU cuts off, they just overheat to the point where physical contact from the motherboard is lost, or the GPU goes thermal shutdown. If your fan add-on works, then use it. There are no TEMP specs on the shut-downs of either the CPU or GPU.
