Hello everyone. I recently got an xbox 360 (falcon o.o) and decided to go for high def so i purchased an hdmi cable. I thought the cable was corrupted or something cause it wouldn't give any sound and it would flash with a black screen every 30 seconds or so. I went to the shop and exchanged it to a deffirent one, and now it doesn't work at all, but the problem is not in the cable cause i tried connecting my laptop and it went without any bumps. So I'm pretty sure the problem is in my xbox's hdmi port. Any ways to check that? Whenever I connect the hdmi cable no lights flash on the ring of light (dunno if it's supposed to flash though). Oh and if theres something wrong with my port how do I open up xbox's case?
thanks a lot for your replies.

Before taking any further action, you would be wise to try a different HDMI cable. Report back afterwards if it still does not work.

#1, is your HDTV, HDCP compliant? If not, you will have problems.
There should be NO problem in the HDMi port, if component video works. Also, if you WERE using component before, and just switched to HDMI, the resolution it is outputting may not be compatible with the HDTV you are using with the HDMI port. This is just a precaution, not a fact... Manually set your RES to 720p with the Component cables. Remove the component plug, then use HDMI, see what happens...

it's a bit late but still... I tried 2 different HDMI cables and none of them worked, so I just purchased an AV high-def cable (the one with 6 plugs on one end) and it works great.
thanks a lot for your replies

That's the COMPONENT cable (Py/Pr/Pb - L/R)
