I was gonna movie it to, but was not sure a hand-held counted as a console...

Anyhow, about D.A., so what's the big deal? I really think it to be quite self centered of anyone, that people would get mad because he left or is leaving the scene, so people can't what; Pirate anymore?  That's just blows my mind...  The guy helped, and did so much, and people are angry if he leaves? Man, what a REAL crappy life people or you live if they or you can't get tools to PIRATE anymore. Boo-hoo, whoas me...  I do not really CARE why DA is leaving home-brew, the fact that people are ANGRY just further makes my point of what the mentality is of people today; the "I am never happy" and "I want more for free" mentality...

I don't get a lot of what that is about, there's no LEAD UP, and it doesn't say why he left, and seems he is done because of Sony?  You have to assume that, because there's nothing else there as to WHY he left the scene.  You may want to find more information, or see if it is at his WIKI...

This is what I found:

I've decided to cease OE development, and leave PSP scene.
The reasons are various.
One of them is the time it consumes, which i'm losing from other things.
The other is related to my security. I didn't like Sony menaces to PS3 hackers.
I think it is better to leave now rather than end paying the consequences.

First of all, OE development?  He is NOT a Developer for Sony, he is a criminal, by all standards of the Millennium Copyright Act....   To have the gull to say you're an OE developer is insane, does he know what OE means (Original Equipment).  SO, tell me, how is hacked firmware, umm, OE?

SECOND: You kidding me?  I can see the TIME consuming thing, but being intimidated by menacing Sony?  Good, you should be, it's their intellectual property you're fooling with, and it is, and get this; against the law.   You want to get mad because you may get busted because you are doing something ILLEGAL?  You got a lot of nerve!  What on earth gives people the right to complain about their security and safety when they are breaking the law.  How about this, someone breaks into YOUR house, steals YOUR property, trips and falls on the way out the door and threatens YOU with law suit?  Ha? Do ya like that?  No?  Why not?  You're (who ever) are stealing from Sony or who ever else, with downloaded, or pirated copies, so you "proverbial" trip and fall (get caught), and are mad you GOT caught? You soup simple son's a bitches (not anyone here particularly; generally speaking).... 

People are mad he quit, because that means no more PIRATING TOOLS, plain and simple.  SO, lets NOT get mad that you can't get a JOB, or your parents getting mad because you are a THIEF, or you make any money.  NO, lets all get mad because, Boo F'ing Hoo, I can't STEAL anymore.  Grow the hell up people... 

YOU as a criminal have no right to complain, so be happy with what was, and move on...  Besides, someone else may step up, so you'll all be happy once more you can steal again, with new firmware...

i think the "oe development" is the open edition firmwares he created.

Oh, Ok; OE in his terminology, so I missed that, but my mind is always on the level, when I hear OE, I automatically think Original Equipment...

I have downloaded music, to replace music I lost.  I have every Iron Maiden CD, and the originals were stolen a long time ago, but I always kept the cases and sleeves.  In fact, it was just last year that I downloaded the Discography for Iron Maiden to replace the ones I lost, and to restore some others that were scratched, so you bet, I downloaded music, but I had owned it at one point; and, still have the cases and sleeves. 

Never downloaded a movie, first of all, takes too long, and are not the best of quality.  I got the theater in house, so I buy DVDs (now blu-ray), so downloaded content wouldn't be the same.

If you wish to come to my house to find PIRATED or DOWNLOADED content, be my guest (look in the yard, six feet down...).  As I have stated, I used to be a major Game Cracker in the old Commodore 64 days, they have long since been over.  I helped destroy the software market on the east coast, as also stated, since we were getting the games from WEST, cracking them and giving them away, not just DISC, plug in cartridges to...  I had the very first CARTRIDGE COPIER for the C64, yes ME (plug the cartridge in with the program running, it dumps to disc, Load "game",8,1 then SYS 49152, bamm-o cartridge runs!!, even the Epxy FastLoader; my#1 requested cartridge on disc). I recruited a very smart dude to code it for me, and he was more than happy to, and when it worked I was THE MAN, though someone else wrote it for me, they just didn't know WHY or WHAT they were writing it for.   I basically said I needed a program to dump C000 to CFFF to disc when you plug something into the cartridge port...  That's what I got, and to my surprise the simple program worked.  NOT with everything, but at least 80% of game cartridges...

So, I was hunted by two major game makers, Epyx and Activision, with the help of a C64 regional sales rep, J. SOLOMON.  I worked at a retailer for Commodore product, sold them (even at the initial C64 600.00 price tag), he came to my store, and sat at a table telling me how they're looking for "Powerslave" and his band of hackers....  He had a very, very SMALL inclining it was me, but could never prove it.   I have also stated that at least ONCE, I had to give my game collection a small dirt-nap when the Feds came a knockin'.  I was one of the ones that DIDN'T get busted, because I wasn't stupid, ignorant, or arrogant about it, like DARK ALEX...  They think they are someone, and well, that's what happens.  I could very well be into the HACKING scene with all these consoles, but choose not to, but, for all you know, I could be already playing backups on my PS3, XB360...  Still, I won't help destroy the industry anymore.  I do not like what the Government "steals" from me every pay-check, so I can't do it to someone else.

Yes, I was "The Man" when it came to the Commodore 64...  Those days are over, and, anything that I would develop?  Would never see the light of day, EVER....

Why do I do it?  Well, because I try to be objective about some things.  People want to backup their games to preserve their originals?  I am all for it, but not DOWNLOADING, or copying off other people.  Some of you say that, the REASON you hack is to pirate, yeah, and "Locks are for honest people."

and there was no truth to that psp-hacks post! i said i have released a couple viruses on the internet not exploited loop holes on the dash hacks network. speaking of which, i have just tried scanning for all open ports on the network with no luck of finding any loop holes. you can do it yourself and find that out. i know i didnt do it and only a handful of people know that i am a hacker turned good. i dont like the term hacker. the media gave the "crackers" the name hacker! we are the real hackers, the kind that help. crackers are the fracked up people that have no friends! the media fracked that up big time. so when i tell people that i am a hacker, they always want me to bust into computers and destroy this and that nd i always have to clarify what a hacker is and does.

Methodical, I do not think I was talking to you, if I was, it was because of what I thought OE meant, till later I did see what OE meant to the PSP scene, and I thought it was Original Equipment, just 'cause of the way I think...   

I do not care what Mahan says to Moderators or Admins, everyone has freedom of speech to a CERTAIN point.  He's going to call me a Hypocrite for no reason, well, then I can call him a schmuck for thinking it.  He has also called me worse, and he is still here, so to each his own.  People attack the TRUTH all the time, that's why I get shit all the time from people.  People hate to have their short-comings pointed out to them, if you're a thief, then you're a thief, plain and simple.  I am allowed to say you're a thief if you copy games you do not own, because, well, that's what a thief does; TAKES things that do not belong to them. 

Backups are supposed to be Legal under your rights to have a backup.  The problem is what you need to do now to MAKE and to PLAY a backup, that is the illegal part.  The reason it is all illegal is because of people who do not pay for their games that they are backing up.

I have backups of a LOT of my games, while the originals are tucked away in a nice plastic case, inside a plastic container...   

AGAIN, this does not go on at the PS3 hacking site for whatever reason, and I am just as avid about PIRACY there.  I am also an Administrator there, and that place gets more traffic that here.  Fact is, there I have several supporters of Anti-Piracy there right now.  I think it is because people who own PS3s are WAY more mature than Xbox360 owners, because the Majority of XB360 owners are jobless teens whom their parents bought the Console for; while most of US PS3 owners (because of the high price) have jobs and know what life is about.  That is not an insult or dig, it happens to be what it is.

MIDAN:  When you reply to someone's message that needs to be pointed out, QUOTE them with the QUOTE link rather than just REPLY.  Scared people often go back, and edit their posts, like he obviously did (admin logs may show that anyway).  If you would have QUOTED him, then only you, a moderator or admin can EDIT your content, so we would see it even if he went back and edited it.  As his post is now, there is really nothing wrong with it.  The VERBAL assault was edited out by him, as I do not see one.  Just remember, use the QUOTE function so we can see the original content.

i fixed grammatical errors in my post, i didnt edit anything out. if some sort of admin logs show edits then they will see that.
