Re: Easy Samsung Guide For MS25 & MS28 Drives

you need a  VIA VT6421A pci card

or if you could use a m8t's tower
if he's tower has not got a compatible chip set
you need to buy a VIA VT6421A pci card

get one from here
http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search. … mp;from=R2

if you can get one cheaper than that get one

Re: Easy Samsung Guide For MS25 & MS28 Drives

I gotta say I have had 1 hell of a time trying to mod my xbox and its becoming a nightmare. First off the torx sizes listed in the tot are wrong. After spending 2 weeks looking for T12 I finally saw someone that said its T10 not T12. Geee thanks on that. heh Next when we got it open. I have 5 differnt Sata controllers and only 1 ended up actually being compat from the list. So that took a hell of a long time to find. Then I try to install this program and it says I need .NET 2.0 Yet again another restart. Then I finally get the program to run. Set it up with all the correct setting listed in this tot and hit the create disk button and I get an error

"Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name:length"

Geee great so the program isnt working ontop of all this other bullshit. Now im not downing your program and infact it worked fine on other computers with the incomp sata controllers. I just need a little help before I shoot my xbox

Re: Easy Samsung Guide For MS25 & MS28 Drives

Hi, i have a little problem following this guide.

btw: i have the ms28 drive and got a via vt6421a pci controller card, everything works great, making the usb boot disk with no problems selecting the via vt6421 card and using the xtreme5.2c firmware.

I get to the nr 3. TYPE:(xread 1234567 12345) hit enter, and i dont get any drive options, it just continues and standing at message: please wait.........

Port 8400, Master/Slave: a0

anyone know what my problem could be?

i start the pc and computer as explained in the guide, booting up the pc with 360 sata cable connected to vt6421 card, in dos i start up the 360, writing the xread command and the "error message" appears where i should be getting the drive selection option.

thx, lommemannen

Re: Easy Samsung Guide For MS25 & MS28 Drives

Hi, like lommemannen I'm having problems with my flash. I got all the way to having the PC recognizing the drive (XTREME) but when i select the drive, and even tried waiting 2 to 20 seconds to before turning the 360 back on it still won't "XREAD". i get this screen;
                                                                                Port: 4080, Master/Slave: a0
and it just stays there. I even tried disconnecting everything except one dvd drive and still no go, please help!

Re: Easy Samsung Guide For MS25 & MS28 Drives

Yes and no. Sometimes it just hangs, and sometimes it lets me press esc and it does say "80 should be 70". I also noticed that it hangs everytime I turn the power back on around 8-12 seconds. Does this mean its doing something? thanks for the quick reply.

Edit: Now it's saying "status 00=should be 70" when i press esc. It still hangs sometimes. Please help!
