i have just bought my son a 360 core version and would like to know if i can buy a standalone external hard drive (not the 20gb micrsoft) that i can equip to enable backward compatibility????
i cannot get xbox games to work and more than that i want a facilty to save games to....and then i want to store is xbox games etc to a big 250gb hard drive but need to know what i can and cant do????are there any dashboards that can be used for hacked 360s.......
please help my son is doing my head in...

no you cant, only the 360 HDD has the emulator software, and thats the only one you can save games to, sorry dude

The HDD is NOT the only way to save games, the reply above forgot that you can use the 64Mb memory card for game saves. Try to find a used one, like at one of those game exchange places. The extra 100.00 in buying a premium would have saved you 120.00+ in the future if you buy the HDD, Live Headset, Wireless controlle later on.
