GodzIvan strikes again (or so we thought), this time with a diagram which simply write protects the NAND flash in the Xbox 360 by connecting WP to ground pin (if the flash type has different pin-out, just find the datasheet to locate WP). This modification does not stop the ban from M$, but it prevents deletion of the HD installation certificates required by games which means you can still install them on the hard drive. In order to update the kernel this mod must be disabled; a simple switch solution comes to mind.
*UPDATE* It is being said that now, this only works BEFORE the console was banned. Originally, the title from Xbox Scene said AFTER the ban, it has been changed. You would have to keep this on ALL the time now, on a modded, not banned console. Once it is banned, the NAND cannot be altered if it is on. If you turn it OFF, while your console is banned, then you will lose your HDD Loading the second your xbox makes contact with live, if still on-line.
So, this basically means that, using this BEFORE the console ban makes it absolutely USELESS afterward, so what’s the point?! You can only use it as a preventative measure now, then has to be left on all the time if banned.

Это необходимо было делать до бана – данная модификация позволяет избежать сохранения измененной прошивки консоли в NAND памяти после перезагрузки. Т.е. мы делаем этот мод, замыкаем 19 ногу на землю, выходим в лайв – видим, что консоль забанили, теряем возможность установки на винт. Отключаем сеть, перезагружаем консоль – снова оказываемся незабанненными с доступом к харду. В лайв с этой консоли больше не выходим.

Nope. You must use it before banning (connecting to Live). If you`re already banned, there`s no solution. Let`s wait and see.
The person who is featuring this deal says it works AFTER the console has been banned, I see that is has been corrected at the source as well! How nice of them to put false hopes into people. I will change it.
Its better to make an on/off switch so that you can install a game or erase data from your hard drive.
THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE THE BAN THOUGH!
So basically if your Xbox 360 is modded, do this mod and whenever you do get banned you have your ass covered!
Yes, if it was ON when the console was banned, you would be safe. Then, if you plan on putting it on line for Link-Kai or whatever, you still need to leave it ON. You do not have to be signed into live for it to communicate with the servers.

This is why it’s just 3-LOD (three lights of death), and no RING, because? Well, 3 lights on 4 lighted circle does NOT complete the circle, and therefor NOT a ring. Try giving your fiance’ a 3/4 completed ring…
hey all
i was banned long time ago. maybe 2 years or so because i dont give a shit about live (i play online with ps3, it’s free, microsoft is a bitch letting us pay for use with internet). But besides that. i cannot connect to live but will this still happen for me if i update from a gamedisc or something like that? or am i save because i cannot acces live anymore??

You`re safe, there`s no possibility to disable your hdd access offline for now. The only way for microsoft is to add all banned console IDs in future updates : )

So if Micro**** gets more bitchie they can add this to a disk update. oke. Think i go Buy another box en never play on live;), so they can never now i use ixtreme. After all, it´s my own decision to mod my box.

has anyone figuared out HOW they are catching people yet? I have a lite-on with 1.51 firmware and have not been banned yet,of course Ihavent been on live either.Also,can I still use wireless networking to my pc without going on live?
You`re not banned, because you haven`t been on live – you can only be banned on-line. But there`s a very big chance that your console was “flagged” – and you`ll be banned the same moment you`ll connect to live. There`s no possibility to avoid it by now.
And almost everyone, who has alternative firmware before banwave were banned or flagged.
how can you have 1.51 on a liteon drive??? 1.6 was the first version that worked for the liteon drives. came out around christmas last year, and thats when the liteon drives were first hacked.
The only way i guess is to network PC and xbox360 without internetaccess!
