October 28, 2009Xbox 360 System Update – Wireless Adapter WPA2 support
Posted by The Ori
When you sign in to Xbox LIVE you will receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.
This update does not include the Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and Zune features. Those will be coming to Xbox LIVE later next month. This update adds WPA2 support for the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter.

Awesome. I didn’t know what it did, but that is very useful.
DON’T UPDATE! It made my burned games unplayable, just like the original firmware with the “Play DVD” and not booting the game.
It also prevents the JTAG hack for booting to Xell.
you need an activation disc most likely to play your games now
I’m not fully informed about Wave 4, but does this check prevent even older Wave # games to start, not only new Wave 4 titles?
just curious will this hinder backups from working?
no backups still work 100%
it is safe 2 update
Has nothing to do with backups, it is a wireless security protocol. It will prevent the JTAG hack.
i updated and im still playing fifa 10 online and new forza havn’t had any problems…
I updated and playing Halo ODST single player just like I was before the update so I believe it is safe to update.
Interesting, I tried Red Faction : Guerrilla and GTA IV (first one) and they didn’t work. It must have been a glitch in the system after the update. Now several hour after the update, I powered on my system and tested these games again, NOW does they work.
Well, the thing that I come to the conclusion that it doesn’t work was that I also tried a original copy of Lego Indiana Jones and it was playable (at least it showed the “icon” for the game and it have the text “Play Game”).
Strange, sorry for the shout out.
If there’s some one else that had the same “problem” as me, it would be nice to hear.
where’s the download link for this hacked update?
