thats a point of getting a PPC linux on there isnt it?,

so you can realtime x264 HD AVC trans/Encode on these 3 CPUs faster, surely thats got to be good for somthing if you havea really weak old PC running something like freeNAS.

given your average HD-H@L5.1 1080P.MKV,5,1 AC3 , how does x264 running on the linux 360 compare to x86 quad 2.0 gig re-Encoding to the native 360.mp4 H@L4.1,2.1 AAC ?

BTW can we really run a PPC 360 linux without having a chiped unit today, if so a url to how and a ISO image to do it fro newbs would be a good thing.

Takes up a lot of CPU run time? ONLY if it has to transcode, otherwise, no it doesn't.

You still have to have a MEDIA SHARING process running on a host for Xbox360 to stream anything. So, that means XBMC still won't see anything unless you are running it. This is useless on the 360, because it's GUI has the shell built in.

No ISO Loader, it has nothing to do with that. Not only that? FatX and Fat32 does not support file sizes >4GB, so how are you loading an ISO? NO one bothers to read up on file systems and their limitations before asking "Could it?" Either way, NO, because of the file size limit, and XB360 don't recognize NTFS devices in the USB ports either.

The problem with media servers are they can take up alot of cpu runtime and memory especially if you have multiple clients connected, with windows shares or samba shares support its alot less processor and memory dependent, plus the features are already there instead of crappy bolt on bits of software. I've been using xbmc on the original xbox for nearly 3 years and without any issues of media playback or compatibility the only issue I've had recently is it doesn't have enough cpu runtime for hd content other wise its pretty decent and stable.

Also forgot to mention, the current X360 Media Center dashboard *ONLY* works if you have Media Sharing on your network... Whereas XBMC allows you to view any media from anywhere on your network/DVD/USB drive, for example a NAS.

Well the way I see it, M$ are shitting on their own feet really, if they ban everyone, everyone saves £35 a year and then XBL becomes no more ... Problem solved??

Could this pave the way to ISO Loader on the XBox 360? o.O Deff. not for use with XBox Live but I have a extra XBox 360 to fuck around with and I bet some people out there have banned Xbox 360 consoles.

"XBMC is not required under the XB360 (or PS3) Dashboard as it is, with a Media Server running on a PC. The XB1 neds XBMC because it doesn’t have the same features built in to its Dashboard."

So this is basically useless?
