That's what I kind of been saying, I got both also, and end up buying the 360 game for the graphics. I also agree with you on ALL the points you made about Live! I also said that you do get your money back in the form of freebies, in one way or another. You may only have a few days to get the free one, but hey, it's free. I also got the 1st episode of Heros, in HD, free. So, 49.99 is worth what you can obtain if you keep your eyes open.

I have also noticed how long it takes to download stuff to PS3, then when done it needs installed (unpacked). With XB360, you download it, and it runs right away. Sony has just taken their console security one step farther with that.

I see Sony charging a price for a premium service in the future, it will be like Live Gold, and what we have now will be Silver.

I have been a Sony guy from the release of the PS1. Now I have both the 360 and PS3 and have changed my tune. There are many thing that differ about the systems and to compair them is kind of be norrow minded. It's the games that speak for the systems and should be what's judged.

Someone mention COD4. Well I hate playing with kids and @ssholes that team kill. Well in the 360 version I can private chat with a buddy of mine so I dont have to listen to them. If I get team killed I can give them bad player reviews and never be matched up with them again. So far the PS3 dont not have those options. Not to mention, the 360 version has better graphics on this game. Yes I have the Elite and am able to have true 1080p.

The DL content of the 360 far exceeds that of the PS3, but that is what we get for paying for the service. MS is able to gather more content for us. Once the PS3 has the HD content I will be interested to see how much things cost.

Speaking of DL content. aHave you even DL a game demo on the PS3? Well first you download it, which takes forever, even on my T1 line. Then you have to install it, which takes even longer. On the 360, you DL in half the time and are playing it imediately.

I dont see the reason to bash either system. I see microsoft trying to make a home system rather than a game console. I am sure that soon enough they will have a web browser and the other small feature PS3 has. I just hope for Sony's sake, they keep up.

Xboxfounder:

MS opposed Blu-ray because Sony supported it, plain and simple. I was in the room when the decision was made. But they hedged their bets by making the Media player a plug in. They could very quickly have a Blue Ray external plug in just like the HD, if Sony will cooperate."

"Therein lays the rub. MS, one of the worst co's to get info out of to make products compatible, needs Sony to help a competitor do just that - compete with a compatible product that depends on the competitor's intellectual protocol. Sony knows that they cannot justify charging MS a fee that is larger than any other customer. Sony wants to make Blu-Ray ubiquitous so they have shaved down fees as much as possible. So MS must get the same deal as everyone else."

"What would you do now if you were Sony? The same thing MS has done over the years. Make the technology intentionally incompatible, withhold information, withhold support for design input to make it compatible, etc."

"We'll see over the next few months. Either MS will come out with a Blu-ray player, or they will file suit to force Sony to share, in much the same way many others sue MS for the same reasons on Windows compatibility. It will be interesting to watch this unfold."

Blu-ray was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association, a group of companies representing consumer electronics, computer hardware, and motion picture production.

Ok, so this "association" consists of Sony, Matsushita (Panasonic), Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, and Samsung. Spearheaded by NP Infotech. Hitachi and Samsung have been the primary suppliers if all M$ game console DVD drives. Recently, LG was named one of the newly contracted drive suppliers for Xbox360, besides BenQ, which is Philips. So, here you have the five major contributors to XBOX drives, since the first console. Thompson doesn't make any 360 DVD drives, because they were the worst with XB1.

SO, how is Sony going to stop LG, Hitachi, Samsung, Phillps, or even Thompson from making a 360 version BR-D? Also, if the "association" says, they welcome Toshiba and M$ with open arms, then that can't mean to come in, but you can't have anything.

Sony began the push for BR-D, and if it were not for BR-D, the 1080p HD-television would not have come out so quickly either, as SONY also had the first 1080p HDTV, now look at all the people making them.

Even with Set Top BR players, Sony doesn't have the exclusive. They did at first with the first well over 1000.00 player, but now; Samsung, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, LG, Sharp, Lite-On (and iLO?), Mitsubishi, Funai, JVC, Loewe, Denon, and Daewoo also have set-top BR-D players now . So, they are allowing other people to license the product. If Sony denies M$ the use of the BR-D, then we know they are afraid, and unsure of their product success, and the PS3.

M$ can easily put the BR-D in the XB360, it has nothing to do with the CPU, if it did, all set-top BR-D players would have CELL CPUs in them. Both CPUs are POWER PC based Processors. The only difference is the PS3 is a Cell CPU with 6 SPEs for gaming and one General Purpose as the Micro Controller. The XB360 is a three core, General Purpose CPU all the way around. Both are similar processors, believe it, do some research, please, that's all I ask.

There have never been multi game DVDs for any Microsoft console... DVD9 has been good enough for now, because a PS3 game without all the FLUFF wouldn't take up half a Blu-Ray disc.

"M$ can easily put a BD drive indside their xbox" - are you serious?? if they put in a BD drive, that would make it a whole new console! it's just plain stupid to put in just the BD drive so that it can compete with the ps3. if M$ is going to make a BD drive built in, they are for sure putting other new things in like a better processor or GPU to make the move worth it! but the 360 is still only in it's 3rd year and making that big of a leap will surely pisses off a lot of people! so...NO, M$ will not put in a BD drive inside 360 at least for now!

360 has a similar processor to the ps3?? everybody should know by now that they are by far different with each other. 360 is more pc oriented but Cell BE for ps3 is a new breed multicore processor which at the moment the true power hasn't being tapped yet!

lastly, for people saying that DVD9 is still good enough, you're in denial! think about a multi-DVD game like lost oddessy! that won't be happenning to the BD-based pas3!
