Beginning next Wednesday, JAN 23rd, 2:00 a.m. PST through Sunday, 11:59 p.m. PST, Xbox LIVE members worldwide can download the full version of the recent award-winning Xbox LIVE Arcade game, Undertow.
Developed by Chair Entertainment Group, Undertow is one of the highest-rated and best looking games available on Arcade. Undertow redefines aquatic based shooters through a mix of high-definition graphics, intuitive controls and multiple modes of game play action. The game features a full story driven-single player campaign, on and offline co-op, and multiplayer for 2-16 players over Xbox LIVE for Gold subscribers. Players battle for control of the oceans as one of three selectable races, each with four unique, upgradeable units. “Undertow” is available worldwide (normally 800 Microsoft Points) and is rated E10+.

Free Game Day: Xbox Live Crashes!
Well if their existing troubles weren’t enough? As you know, today was supposed to start the free Undertow game? This was all to make up for those days of system downtime and intermittent Xbox Live users, um, “suffered” (that word sounds familiar) over the holidays. So, according to Murphy’s Law, this makes today the perfect time for the system to come crashing to its knees again.
When many gamers tried to retrieve Undertow this morning, they got a message telling them the system “can’t retrieve information from Xbox LIVE. Please try again later.” The message also helpfully points out that this is a status code: 8015000a. Status codes huh? Gee, what ever happened to a nice verbose reason we can all understand? Something like:
XBL Server Error - Too Many Connections.
Please try again later.
Or how about “Server Bandwidth Exceeded” haa haa haa!! The real reason being, the Internet pipelines that carry the traffic? Those people may have had it with THEIR 3-Lights Of Death returns, and decided to pull the plug…
Umm thanks lol they should do free arcade games even without downtime.
Next Wednesday? It has to be, because I just tried to get it and it says 800 points. Patience…

I downloaded it today, it actually isn’t a bad game. It is like Robotron, in the way your move and fire. I played it for about 45 mins today. Not worth 800 points, but it is a cool freebie.

i got my xox recently and because i refuse to fork out an extra 60 quid for a wireless bridge i tried bridging the connection from my pc, its only seems to work when it wants too =[ so i opened the instruction manual and found half a page on that

Yes, if they are allowing a download worth 800 points, then people should be able to choose any item worth 800 points for downloading, right? Makes sense to the community. M$ really does go about things in a manner that just doesn’t make sense.
Then i would actually cost them the money the pay to their game suppliers, this game they own the rights to, so the can give it for free.
After this I have just decided to not renew for the next year.
Wish M$ would have let us choose the game (just give some free points to get what you want) or given us a bit of free time (a week would work….)
Oh man, another complaint. Ready? Here goes. I just called 1-800-4-my-xbox because my 11th console is in for repairs. I asked them since my console will be gone during the Undertow download-fest, what can they do for me? They don’t have an answer. I got a reference number and was told to call back in three days, and ask again. What?! Okay, I’ll be patient, but aren’t they already going to do something else for the people that already own Undertow? Like, give them the 800 points or something? I’ll let you know what they decide to do for me when I call them back on Wednesday…

Well, I don’t want to be left out of the free game. That’s our compensation for Live being down…
They should take into consideration the people that HAVE the game already…
Undertow sucks
They are giving the people that already own Undertow 800 Microsoft Points. They are giving everyone else Undertow. I called them cause my 11th console has been in for repair for a while, and I still don’t have it back. I asked when I would get my console back, and they said it’s still at the repair center, and that I won’t get it back by Sunday. So I asked what they would do for me since I wouldn’t be able to download Undertow, due to my console being in for repair, and they said they can’t do anything for me. It’s not my fault they keep sending me refurbished crap. This is supposed to be compensation for loss of Live time, and I don’t get compensation. Talk about not fair.
OK OK… Now more fat and useless slobs can sue them for missed Live time. It is a pointless reason to sue, however I do think MS kind of deserves it after a second time around and especially at a time where they are trying to regain a bit of dignity by offering something free…… Can you imagine… Something actually free from Microsoft….. How can you fail at giving away something for free….LOL
There are a lot of reasons XBL doesn’t work. It could be technical problems, usually, beyond their control. It might only be certain regions due to interconnectivity. I have not had any problems myself, to tell you the truth.
Someone could be attacking he servers with DOS attacks too, so who knows man. Stuff happens, my car may break down, so should I sue Dodge? I mean, really… It happens man, just roll with it, it is NOT a life or death issue, not at all.
I finally got my Elite back today, (12th console) and I had to call Microsoft with a reference number, and yep, they gave me 800 points to get Undertow. And they are finally going to fix my DRMs! It takes about thirty days, but it’s worth it. So they finally are going to fix my problems. Yay!
