December 11, 2007Timing Attack working with kernel 2.0.6683.0 - Updated FILES for Fall ‘07 Update for Banned Consoles

Modrobert writes “Ivc over at xboxhacker.net has confirmed that the Timing Attack still works after kernel update 2.0.6683.0 (aka the fall update).”, “I have updated the Xbox360Kernel wiki accordingly, following the lead of free60.org.”
The latest Kernel for the December ‘07 update is 2.0.6683.0 - Blows eFuse
Xbox System update to put on the 360 hdd using xplorer, Xata or Xport (partition 3):
FALL ‘07 UPDATE- 12/11/07 On Local Server
DivX/XviD Media Update- 12/11/07 On Local Server
I checked the DivX/XviD update file, and the main file is 1MB Uncompressed; see the README.TXT in the archive. This is for Partition 3:
/Content
/0000000000000000
/FFFE07DF
/00000002
/69BCCCF6D6297BFB2AEE9EF626B46C8E22A4B672FF
These file should also help those without XBL to upgrade their consoles that are banned, or can’t OTHERWISE, connect to live. I will try and add them to our local downloads later today, or tomorrow.
I checked the main update Archive, it contains “$SystemUpdate” folder & the “su20076000_00000000″ file, which is about 7.1MB.
Timing Attack /Downgrade Info
Machines with CB/CD 1888 and CE/CF 6683 could be downgraded.
They downgraded a machine with the latest 6683 kernel to 1888 using the PIC timing attack. The CB/CD sections didn’t change after the update and is still 1920 after the update. This might suggest CB 1888/1903/1920 on current machines can’t be changed/updated, and a newer CB can only be applied to newer machines.

fist :)
hope these files work
why worry with downgrading if nothing is out to take advantage of it unlike the PSP?? How about fixing the “Disc Unreadable” errors that are the worst thing to get. I rather get Banned than have a DU error.
amen
Everything worth doing takes time. The downgrading the kernel allows for exploitation. With better security comes more time to crack open. The problem is the people who never buy their games can’t wait.
The files are now added to the DOWNLOADS section of the home page. They are in the ROOT area, so go to downloads, and page down, both are there.
the files work..thanks
Divx codec not working for me (on the 360) any one got this working ?

the files work..thanks
I updated my 360 using a flash drive now its v.6683 then i used explorer360 to put the codec file on the folder, but when i load an avi /DIVX video it won’t play, am i doing anything wrong here? Pls help thanks
yeah but does jaa mean the divx works or the files are downloadable from links
Divx video not working as others have said. Updated dash just fine.
So there’s currently no way to watch divx video on a banned x360?
Downloaded Dashboard Update= Works fine.
Downloaded Divx codec and put onto HDD,= NOT WORKING.
Codec file must be tied up with console, too bad..
It is not console specific. I have two Xbox360 systems, both I updated to the new SYSTEM, but only did the DivX content on the primary one. I took my HDD to the one I did NOT update to DivX, and they played fine. I took the other HDD, placed it on my primary console, downloaded the content, put the HDD back on the original console, and it worked just fine.
Worst comes to worst, you people will have to take your HDD, and place it on a NON BANNED console, and play a file, download the content, and place it back on yout HDD. IT is not console specific, but it may be profile specific, but will work with the profiles on that HDD.
I suppose I will have to look at both HDDs on my Xata device, and see if the file names match. I will try that as soon as possible.
i havent tried that yet ( putting the codec to the HDD thru a non-banned console) But if it works, might try it tho. Thanks for the update.
Just to be clear, this is exactly what I did:
Updated primary console with the $SystemUpdate on line, and DivX content on line. XviD and DivX as files, worked fine from a DVD.
Updated Secondary console, to the $SystemUpdate only. I did not do the Codec update.
Took the HDD from my Primary console, put it on the secondary console, XviD files played from a DVD.
Took secondary HDD, placed it on my Primary, No DivX or XviD. Downloaded the CONTENT again, played fine.
Placed secondary HDD back on secondary console, XviD/DivX played fine.
So, you can take your HDD to a non banned console, that has already had the system update done, sign in with your profile, attempt playback, download content, and put your HDD back to your console. As you should know, the BANS are console only, not your profile (gamerTAG).
Tried the whole console hdd swapping and it didn’t work for me just comes up with you need to update on Live
Well, then it may be that BANNED consoles can’t take the DivX update. The HDD swap worked for me, however, neither console is banned… That may be the issue then, which then sucks for all banned consoles; they’re stuck with transcoding.
I am still keeping my eye on this, to find examples where BANNED consoles were able to do this somehow.
So right now there is no way to watch DIVX on a banned Xbox?
