FWIW, my PS3 has been on for a week straight and hasn’t melted; unlike my Wii, which has a bulge from being in standby instead of off.
And I look at X360 sites to see what I can look forward to when I get my pre-ordered Elite in the UK ;)
Key points, though, for all the fans:
I bought Wii to play with my friends.
I bought PS3 for the technology.
I bought X360 for the games.
360, I’ve wanted since my mate was on the soundtrack for PGR3, and the 360 controllers are SO much better than the PS3 controllers (for driving games, definitely, and probably for pretty much all games. Hard to tell when the PS3 only has about 4 decent titles marketed in the UK). But 360 also became a lower priority because I have an old Xbox, which also has fun games (and is X3CE plus front panel modded with XBMC).
As for the 360 needing extra costs to meet PS3; I predict that by next Christmas, the 360 core will be dropped. All 360s will have HDs and HDMI (already the HDMI is on more than just the elite), and the “Elite” will have a built-in HD-DVD drive, so you get Core – 20GB, wired, then Premium, 120GB, wireless, and Elite, 120GB, black, HD-DVD + Wireless.
Priced to compete with Wii and PS3, so UK-wise, £199, £299 and £379 respectively.
the only thing better about 360 compared to ps3 is you can play pirated games on it! I bet you are using a modded 360! that’s why you’re saying its better – even when you knew the 360 has a very high failure rate because it is so damn full of problem with it!!
The USA is buying the blueray more than the HD-DVD’s dumb ass, get your facts stright. The Crap 60 is the most worthless system in the world and I have seen some crap systems before. If you compair what the two systems have against each other, you will see that the PS3 is far superior (and cheaper if you actually do your math). I work at Gamestop and the 360 is the most returned system I have ever seen in system life. They break sooooooooo Easily and Like JCLG said there are only 2-3 good games for the 360, remember, they still use plain old DVD’s with dual layer technology, that is only 9.4 GB of data per game, They havent come out with Multi-CD games for the 360 so all the games are Below 9.4 GB and I don’t know if you noticed but GRAPHICS TAKE A LOT OF MEMORY!!! so they are doing one of two things, either sacrificing Gameplay for graphics (which is Why you will never find a game over 20 hours for the 360), or just makeing Mediocare games in general. Bottom line

Look If you want a 360 go get a 360 but if you want a more powerful machine get a ps3 and look at this ps3 comes with blue ray wifi enabled HDD free online etc for 600 USD now thw 360 250~300 USD i think its at now.. add 100~150 USD for the EXTERNAL HD-DVD reader+99 USD for the EXTERNAL WI-FI adapter if i do my match right that comes up to ~549 oh and i forgot the 29.99 cooling unit that u can buy for it hmm… not to mention that the GPU and CPU are less performent than the ps3. And yes you are right thatright now the xbox has better graphics than the ps3 and how long was the 360 out hmm.. a year before. Give the ps3 the same time and it will be wiping the floor with the 360. A single-layer disc can hold 25GB.
A dual-layer disc can hold 50GB.
The blu-ray can hold up to 8 layers not now but it is capable of holding. and at 25 gb per layer that makes 200gb.Sure while your off paying for online play we can use the money for something else and still play online.

The PS3 never had an overheating problem… the 360 did. There are countless articles on the Internet and user testimonials from people that got the dreaded “red ring of death” from their overheated 360. The 360 is almost as dangerous to use as Windows Vista
i think both systems has their own unique qualities, its just what some one prefireable wants more, unfortunatley everyone has to state out reason and battle out wich is better, pick what you want buy it enjoy it, dont worry about other peoples opinion if you enjoy then everything is fine, just beacuse someone is gonna tell you, you have a sucky ps3/360 dont mean you gotta waste your hard worked money (or on the other hand, waste momys money) and buy a new system. so enojoy what you purchase as long as the costumer is happy with his purchase thats all it counts,

what the 360 can do in 3 lines of code takes the ps3 6 lines of code (for programming the damn thing)
and without blueray, the ps3 would still have ps2 graphics. so the only thing making it “next gen” is the blueray, as i said, without it, the ps3 sucks really bad.

Clever! I actually was a big SONY fan until I bought my 360 to play GOW, and I must say, the expierence has been great. Sony needs to do some major catch up with the online interaction for users. Maybe in another 6 months to a year it will be a great system to invest in.
