Looks like Commodore4Eva has brought in the new year with the first Xtreme firmware release of 2007 — 5.2A/B/C/D!
What’s new?
- Disc-LockOn added for chronic open tray consoles.
- DVD Video disc problems fixed.
Disc-LockOn is additional laser calibration performed when disc inserted returns a cannot identify disc type error. This is for consoles that had very bad open tray issues (Finally got hold of one that had this problem :))
Open tray errors now fixed for good, but “Open Tray” is still a valid status for disc insertions when the drive cannot recognize the disc.

hey, i have a qs which is better to use, paching the 360 firmware, or istalling a chip on the drive?, also with do i’ll be able getting online without any problems?..

hi there guys, the firmware hack is better because it is easy to install and the chip is not so easy. another point is that the chip is not needed at all. its to make money.lol i have been using the hacked firmwar since it came out.
??, but for someone that does not know how to do the firmware, but knows how to put chip on it, and just wanna play back up game, will a chip solve the problem.

yeah, if i put the chip, in the future i belive i dont have to be doing the firmware patching that come out every time, and if i put the chip i i belive i dont have to do anything with none of that.

hi there guys, the chip is ok but if you install the chip you will void all warranty with microsoft. if your ask how… M$ will take your console back if it has problems and if it has the firmware patch they do not check that to. if you need help in flash the drives i can do if for you guys. email me at phonsdastyler@hotmail.co.uk and we can talk more…
hi there guys again, i was just thinking if you put a chip in your xbox360 that will mine that you will have to burn games a different way. far different way. The ISO Image File is Different to the Xtreme Firmware too. the SS Sector read is different etc…
the firmware is better and easyer to do overall…
I got one question.
A few post back there was a program that updates your firmware. And it makes a backup.
So is it possible to return to the original firmware.?
So you can stil play Xbox live.

ok just to answer your questions there is no way to mod or hack your 360 with out voiding your warranty. 2ed the firmware hack is the easyest and best way to mod your 360. yes you can play on live without being banned (!!! So Far It Could Change !!!). yes when you use firmware hack you can put your factory firmware back so your dvd drive is stock.
