December 26, 2006Xtreme Firmware 5.1A, 5.1B, 5.1C, 5.1D for TS-H943
Posted by greg
Commodore4Eva has released Xtreme Firmware 5.1 for Xbox360 TS-H943 drives. It appears to be primarily a bug fix release with the exception of 5.1C and D being added; as per the changelog:
- Open Tray errors fixed (PFI and SS read routines updated)
- 5.1c (Dual speed, default fast) and 5.1d (Dual speed default quiet\slow) read speed (Originals unaffected). Both toggle with original Xbox1/360 disc
- Xbox1 DDE errors caused by firmware, patched
- Possible Xbox1/360 DDE errors caused by firmware, patched
- Single Layer DVD disc support(+/-RW) for both Xbox1 and 360
- New easier batch file “Make Xtreme firmware.cmd” to make all firmwares.
Once again, this is the first Xbox 360 firmware modification that does it all — Single Layer, FirmGuard, Multi Speed, Media Stealth, One Firmware, backup and extraction! Tremendous job Commodore4Eva!

Posted by greg
You may remember back in September when Team Xecuter announced the Blaster360. The device which aims towards delivering a simple DVD-ROM flashing solution for all firmware modders alike.
Here’s the latest update:
OK, after we had a final version manufactured to beta a few weeks ago, we have embarked on an exhaustive testing process (and jees am I glad we did too!). When I say tested, I mean I had guys knock the shit out of this product and tried to break it anyway they could. Of course the answer is yes they did break it, many times, and we have fixed/solved every problem so it REALLY is now ready to roll out of the factory. No one is more down about the fact its not ready for Xmas season than we are, however of course no one is going to argue that we wanted to get this right - because you have NO idea how accurate this thing has to be (initially we thought it would be MUCH easier/simpler than this - boy were we wrong)
It looks like it’ll retail for around $70 (USD) and is scheduled for release within the next 2 weeks. To read more regarding the beta testing results, click the source link below.
And a quick Blaster360 feature recap:
- Once installed never open up the case again to update firmware
- Works with ALL drives
- No soldering, no cutting, no problem !
- 5 minute install
- Xbox Mode & PC Mode Switch
- Modeb Enabled for Hitachi
- Molex Power connector (no lugging around the 360 PSU)
- Superior quality design
- Ergonomically matched to the 360 case
- LED Glow feature
- LED Glow Off / Led Perm On / LED Off switch

Wow… Its been awhile. No less, here we have Maximus’ official 360 firmware toolbox with support to flash the dreaded Hitachi-LG v78 drive!
What else is new in v3.0?
- Direct Dumping of GDR3120L drives attached to PC. Also features a new RAW memdump wich is not fooled by the stealth method on currently hacked drives. Even can dump the nasty 78 drives all by software.
- Direct Flashing of Keys, Spoof data and also Direct flash of hacked firmwares over all hitachi drive models attached to the PC. Even flash the 0078FK drives and newer (I hope). So forgot epoxy removal for now.
- Option to do a Smart hack on those “Rolling Code” Firmwares like 78 and surely newer ones
- Option to create multibank fw
- Option to split multibank fw
- Option to Spoof a firmware, you can spoof a Hitachi XX version to a Hitachi YY version, you can even spoof a hitachi Fw to report as a samsung drive.
- Option validate checksum, this will allow detect proper and bad dumps before flashing
There’s also a video tutorial available here.
Hitachi-LG DVD-ROM owners may require the use of Probutus’ Slax v2.0 to switch their drive into Mode-B, thus, allowing you to flash firmwares and dump discs under Windows.
