Few days old… no less, you can grab it here! Flash78′s Hack360 tool provides an easy means of flashing your Samsung TS-H943 dvd-rom drive. This utility is to be used from a bootable USB stick…

1. Unzip the package hack360 to hard disk
2. Format pendrive with HP Usb Disk Storage Format Tool and to select that it looks for the archives of startingin the folder where has decompressed hack360.
3. copy all the content of the package hack360 to the root directory of pendrive. In case selection asks to overwrite archives if or it will not work without problems.
4. To boot pendrive is necessary that the motherboard allows it and in addition to make sure that in the bios this selected the primary beginning from USB.

It is recommendable to disconnect hard disk, reading and recording of cd/dv, therefore it is avoided that by some confusion or conflict with the motherboard another device instead of the Reader of the 360 is selected.

garyopa is reporting you should not use Birdy’s “Friendly Flasher” with non-v46 drives as it isn’t too friendly afterall… This tool used with a non-v46 drive will most likely result in a brick; as quoted:

I decided to look into the problem with the “Birdy Flasher” and “Bricked” drives.

Here is the problem:

In the script file there is labels to point to the various sections of flashing code.

Remember each firmware build has different offsets and ram address for the hacks.

The Birdy script works great for v46 drives (as that is his model on his x360 system).

But users with v59 and other drives were reporting “bricked” drives.

A few updates over at Team Xecuter with regard to their latest developments… Most importantly, this new device, soon you’ll be able to flash your DVD-ROM’s firmware without needing to crack open the Xbox360 case!

This has taken a LOT of testing and scatching of heads – but at last it works. It’s not final and we have a couple more design changes but it works.

This device will enable to switch to 360 mode for normal usage and PC mode for firmware updating. All with the 360 case intact and closed down – you never have to open it up again to flash your drives firmware.

Furthermore… Team Xecuter will be shipping v2 of the “Xecuter 360 Connectivity Kit” which will be bundled with the X360 USB device! – “World First Xbox 360 HDD, DVD & any SATA HD to USB converter, all-in-one!”

Team Xecuter has released the first full source code [in ASM] for an on-the-fly Xbox360 DVD patcher – the Xecuter Homebrew Modchip (XHM) Project! Quoted from their website:

The first release is for Samsung drives.

Package includes:

• SX18 code fully comented
• Version v1.0 , Auto detect media type
• Put in disc and away you go
• NO SLEEP mod as this is SX18 (SX28 will have sleep)
• SS PSN Patched to FC021E, Hombrewers can change it to whatever they want
• SS PSN currently set for NME Iso Images.
• Works well but its way off perfect – it’s the first release after all
• Its an ASM file and you can edit it as a txt file, put comments after ( ; )
• Also included is the HEX file

We will prepare a full step by step of how the code works and do some LA state listings showing address and data and timing.

The Hitachi release is much easier and far better as the thing runs slower. That will be released in the next few days – just making it work well with ALL versions of firmware all in one mod.

We will keep updating the Samsung and add things to make it better and more stable but the idea is to get budding hackers out there to work with this.

New version of the Xtreme firmware for Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943 Xbox 360 drives.

Xtreme Firmware 3.0 features (quoted from ReadMe.txt):

Stealth Media implemented into firmware. Backups now appear exactly as original disk regardless of which disk check command used by Xbox 360.
Enable0800 mode supports extraction of raw PFI (Physical Format Information) and raw DMI (Disk Manufacturing Information).
Support for loading of extracted PFI and DMI from disk.
