It's a PCB with a flash in a socket and solderpads to connect to the alternative points of the DVD firmware chip (as the chip itself is in epoxy).You have to remove the epoxy covering the chip.I dont think Ill try that.I dont play live so Im not worried about this. I think thats called bios anyway.) this is in the DVD-Rom drive. The are sertain security codes and such (That mircosoft only have) that seach each 360 game disk for these security sectors and etc. The firmware mod jus "takes out" the security "Seachers" in the DVD-Rom drive so that you can backup your games and a DVDR-DL.
