May 17, 2006Dual Firmware Mod for the Xbox360 TS–H943 Drive
Posted by greg
This is cool - it comes from LittleJonny of Team Cavern Imports. LittleJonny has written a tutorial (including screenshots) on how to install a dualboot homebrew mod on the Xbox360 DVD-ROM drive.
“The TightMod360 (v0.43DA)” tutorial explains how you can piggyback a SST39sf020a flashrom onto the Xbox360 TS-H943 DVD drive, so you have 2 firmware chips on the drive and you can easily switch [for example] between the original DVD firmware and Commodore4Evas Xtreme firmware for the TS-H943 Xbox 360 DVD drive.

youre the noob here
Well, if someone achieved to hack its xbox 360 with the firmware here, say it please! Tell s some information like the time it took you and the difficulties we may encounter… thanks!
The xbox 360 firmware isn’t acually inside the system its self( as to say on the motherboard or anything. I think thats called bios anyway.) this is in the DVD-Rom drive. The are sertain security codes and such (That mircosoft only have) that seach each 360 game disk for these security sectors and etc. The firmware mod jus “takes out” the security “Seachers” in the DVD-Rom drive so that you can backup your games and a DVDR-DL. That is the best I can explain it, Hope that helped ashish!
thanks #7
No problem! I just did some reading before when the firmware word started going around, and just followed it from there! You can learn a lot from reading! :-)
Does this mean that you can hide the fact, that you are using hacked firmware. ex. when you use the live features off the xbox360. So that you can switch to the original firmware (and microsoft can ban you from online services)???
Exactly what I wanna know #10, and when are the companies gonna sell some cool mods to make the switch look nice
Has anyone tried this yet? and seen if it works?
I dont think to many people will want to try this. It’s a PCB with a flash in a socket and solderpads to connect to the alternative points of the DVD firmware chip (as the chip itself is in epoxy). You have to remove the epoxy covering the chip.I dont think Ill try that.I dont play live so Im not worried about this.
