- Very user-friendly
- English version and Spanish version
Scener has released a tool to ease the process of extracting and writing the unqiue DVD key to and from the Hitachi DVD-ROM firmware bin [file]. Essentially this avoids having to hex-edit the file manually when hacking your firmware.
Features include (from the readme.txt):
- Program can patch any keydrive into any Hitachi firmware file
- Program can check if a firmware file is encrypted or not
- Program show the keydrive of a Hitachi firmware file
- Program can extract the keydrive into a key.kdx file
- Program can show the key extracted to a key.kdx file
- Program can create custom key.kdx files

April 21, 2006Xbox360 DVD to PC Adaptor Coming Soon
Posted by greg
TeamXecuter has made it apparent their Xbox360 DVD to PC adaptor will be shipped soon - no price is set yet; however, it’s supposedly affordable for the end-user. There will also be bundle kits available - both the HDD adaptor and the DVD adaptor. At the same time you can expect to be using the DVD drive firmware reader/writer allowing you to trick the 360 into booting backed up games.
Great news!
Comments (13)April 21, 2006Xbox360 to get a CPU Upgrade
Posted by greg
Well this doesn’t come as a surprise to me:
In a joint announcement, Microsoft and the manufacturer of the Xbox 360’s CPU, Chartered Semiconductor, have announced that the console’s processor will receive an upgrade in 2007. The upgrade will move the chip’s design to a 65nm manufacturing process (the existing CPU is based on 90nm technology) which will provide lower power consumption and a smaller heat output. It’s expected that the upgrade will not alter the processor’s performance as this could cause compatibility issues with games already released or currently under development for the Xbox 360.

Comments (11)April 1, 20064 Gig Hard Drive
Posted by Sparky
Datel has come up with a better memory solution than the memory unit (aka memory card), and would be the 4 Gig hard drive that plugs into the usb port. It’s only 2cm, by 5, by 5.7, and is under four onces. So not very big, and not very heavy, but the price is $149
Datel was in the news earlier with their hard drive for the Sony PSP. Now they offer a hard drive for the popular Xbox 360. The 4Gb hard drive acts like a Flash drive for the Xbox 360, it connects via USB 2.0 to the 360. It does not require any external power source and has a green glowing power Xbox 360 button on the case. However with a litte tweaking you can connect any USB 2.0 external hard drive to the Xbox 360. The Datel XBox 360 4GB is compact and weighs only 4 ounces.
