Gamespot is running a great article comparing the two consoles – the Xbox Vs. the Xbox360. They’ve taken 9 launch titles, which are also available for the original Xbox, and compared them visually at 480p resolution.
Last time we checked, almost all of us still have standard television sets at home. We’d be lucky to have 480p support let alone any real HDTV resolutions. With that in mind, we’ve gathered together nine Xbox 360 launch games that also have Xbox versions for a head-to-head graphical comparison between games developed for both systems. We kept resolutions at 480p, so the 360 won’t be able to hide behind the image-quality advantages a higher resolution gives you. Normal televisions support 480i, but the image quality should be close to 480p, especially if we’re looking only at still images.
Note that the quality of the screenshots in this feature aren’t as nice as the usual game screenshots we obtain using special cables and image capture devices. With the exception of one Need for Speed Most Wanted shot, we used normal component cables with both systems to keep the comparison even.

There is a problem with these people at gamespot. At the end it says that there is no huge difference in the gameplay if you don’t have a HI-DEF TV. Well, I disagree with that because I own both systems, and my friends don’t have 360’s and we have all decided that games on the 360 look better than the games on the xbox. I don’t have a hi-def tv, and I could tell the difference right away. The people at gamespot are retarded.
I was very disappointed when seeing te “bad” graphics of the xbox360.. it isnt really a next-gen graphic level.. but i hope that in the future the games will have better graphics (i think so..)
i agree the game are not as good as i expected. basically look like the xbox’s graphics

considering the jump in terms of graphics from ps1 to ps2 the xbox to xbox360 is marginal. i owed an xbox and sold it to get my 360, whereas i sold my ps2 to get a psp. i too run high def and have to admit whilst it looks nice the 360 struggles at 1024×768 on need for speed with the graphics…. if the 360 has been been worth the money only time will tell.
