Update: Well shortly after posting this, it was announced in a press conference Monday evening that the Xbox360 will be backwards compatible with “selective” Xbox titles. Not all, but most titles will be supported. More to come.
I realized the other night - now correct me if I’m wrong anyone - but Microsoft has released no information towards whether or not the Xbox360 will be backwards compatible with your old school Xbox games.
Can anyone confirm this?
all I now is that the xbox 360 will not beable to play old xbox games

well at e3 microsoft said that the 30 would be backwords compatible. i would think so because i am sure people will want to squeeze in some halo 2 until halo 3 comes out

Yeah only select titles since they have to recompile/patch it to run on the new processor rather than the old xbox x86 archetecture. So if your favorite game wasn’t that popular on xbox… dont expect it to play on 360
i have also heard rumors where you *HAVE* to have a hdd for the 360 to play xbox games
Yes u can play the old xbox games but get this u will have to go and buy the HD

PS3 is crap, and i s|-|!7 on it. good help them if halo 2 isnt compatible, i’ll have to wait for halo 3 to get the 360, lol.
Xbox 360 will be able to play xbox games but you will need the hard drive and download stuff from xbox live.
